The city of Florence Alb. commissioned The Design Center to Reconstruct a historical fountain in down town square. Over the last fifty years weather had decayed the structure and tornados eroded the cement structure, the top flume was missing. Our job was to rebuild the fountain and custom make a new flume from photo in the historical archives. TDC rebuilt most of the damage ares with plaster in order to pull a rubber molds . quarter section were made in order to reconstruct the piece in the studio. All 1/4 section were cast in plaster forming a replica of the original. corrections and detail added before a final rubber mold was made with a backup mother mold. Last stage, cast the units in 6500 psi concrete and deliver. The city of Florence provided the crane to lift all section into place. the water was turned on and lights let up for the annual city celebration. All were happy with the results. Many newspaper articles followed the operations, and we felt good that TDC. had accomplished florence goal.
